About Palm Tree Development Studios
Palm Tree Development Studios is a small software development business based in the UK. It was formed in August 2010 by two stunningly handsome, immensely talented and unashamedly modest gentlemen, Joe McClean and Dom Willson. The business provides high quality software and web development solutions, including Mobile Apps, games, web design and hosting.
Joe and Dom met at University and through mutual interests, such as scuba diving, became friends. Like all the best ideas, working together and starting a company was probably first conceived over a few beers in the local pub. On finishing their Batchelor degrees at University, they set the ball rolling and created Palm Tree Development Studios.
The Founders
Dominic Willson
Since Dom got is hands on his first computer at the age of six his love for computing, gadgets, problem solving and all things technical has increased exponentially, especially when experimenting with graphics and web design at the age of fourteen.
Driven by the desire to be a computer software and games developer he pursued his ambition at the University of Hull where he graduated with a First Class Bachelors degree with Honours in Computer Science with Games Development.
Fortunately, Dom does find time to play, even with his busy work load, often squeezing in a few minutes on his guitar or piano when he can. He also enjoys regularly partaking in sports including cycling, 7-a-side football, volleyball, swimming and SCUBA diving all playing an important role in his busy social life.
He dedicated two years, whilst at university, to training SCUBA divers and organising trips to popular dive sites such as St Abbs and The Red Sea as President of the Hull University Sub-Aqua Club.
Dom is focused, enthusiastic, well organised and friendly with incredibly high standards and continually strives for perfection in everything he does.
The Founders
Joseph McClean
Joe’s passion for all things related to computer science comes from his father, who is a software engineer himself. He has wanted to work in software and games development since he was eleven years old. This passion led Joe to the University of Hull where he achieved a First Class Bachelors degree with Honours in Computer Science with Games Development. It was here that he discovered his first true love, SCUBA diving.
Places he has dived include the beautiful waters off the coast of Scotland, English Quarries, the luscious Red Sea and the Hull Canal. Diving is not the only way Joe unwinds, he can often be found playing various competitive sports, including Rugby, Lacrosse and Football, and is well on the way to having played every sport there is. He is currently addicted to indoor Volleyball, playing for any local team he can find.
Joe is a dedicated, hard working individual who doesn’t settle for anything less that the best in all aspects of his life, for both himself and others.
